Comics on Parade #12

And we're back to the "present" of March 1939!

We pick up with the Captain and the Kids (and their mother) tumbling down a chute into a crocodile pit under a pyramid. Luckily the Editor allowed for them to do falling damage to the crocodiles!

It's an interesting complication to have rival bad guys waiting outside the pyramid -- but a really challenging encounter if the Heroes (can I call them heroes in this case?) come out injured or weak.

I like the trap of the spring-loaded mummy.

That King Tut would have a secret cache of magic potions -- including a Potion of Invisibility -- seems comic book plausible, minus the perfume bottles. On the other hand, loading magic potions into a perfume bottle so they can be sprayed on does seem an...intriguing notion. It would be up to the Editor to decide if potions need to be ingested or not.

This adaptation makes me want to run the classic D&D module Dungeonland, but for Hideouts & Hoodlums sooo bad.

This is from a gag filler page called Grin and Bear It, but I think this is pretty funny.

And this one too.
